"Dear Sir,
Mauritius is one of the largest exporters of primates for vivisection laboratories in the rest of the world. To date four Mauritian companies have been granted licenses to catch and export primates.Gateway to Hell is a European based campaign focusing on the issue of the transport on animals who are destined for vivisection experiments, in particular those which are wild caught. Inside investigations have shown that many of the animals suffer horrendously when captured, and many die en route to countries in North America and Europe. Once in the laboratories they are then subjected to sickening and pointless experiments which any civilized person would clearly abhor. With this in mind we are calling on countries involved in this export of animals for vivisection or otherwise to end this trade.
In the case of Mauritius we are calling for a complete revokation of all licenses granted to export primates forthwith, and for a guarantee not to license or otherwise permit the trade to take place in the future.
Should we fail to receive such a guarantee it is our intention to launch an international boycott against the Mauritian tourist and sugar industries, to let people know about the unfortunate primates sharing their flights with Air France and Air Mauritius out of the Republic of Mauritius.
However, it is our sincere wish that we can come to an amicable agreement on this issue.
